Danger Mouse
Presents Einstein A Go-Go
How did you first connect with Triple R?
Way back in 1996, having been a Triple R listener for a while and being a budding nerdy scientist, I volunteered as a telephone answerer for ‘Einstein a Go Go'. Now that I'm a genuine nerdy scientist I'm grateful that there is still a place for me at 3RRR after all these years.
I started appearing regularly on EAGG sometime in 1997. (I think.)
Your favourite other Triple R program and why?
Unfortunately, my favourite ever Triple R programme ("Danger: Low Brow") no longer exists and hasn't done so for some time. But it remains my all-time fave because, quite simply, it made me laugh out loud. I like the Sunday morning chat shows (surprise, surprise). The Party Show is wonderfully unpredictable, but I'm getting too old these days to stay up that late on Saturdays. ‘The Drift' has an amazingly eclectic mix of music.
What does Triple R mean to you?
Variety! From chat and talk-back to aural landscapes to jazz and fusion to pop and rock. Without RRR (and PBS), Melbourne radio would be so bland it would be intolerable!
The studio door has accidentally jammed shut with you stuck inside. If there was only one CD in there with you what would you want it to be and why?
I suppose I would want ‘Sex' by The Necks or ‘Thursday Afternoon' by Brian Eno. Each of these CDs is a single hour-long track! That would give me time to call for help....
Are you really a mouse and does Dr Andi really experiment on you?
No and sometimes.
