THE CASE-BOOK OF SHERLOCK HOLMES-U.K 1980s VICTORIAN PERIOD DETECTIVE T.V SERIES - ABC1 & HD - MONDAY 12.30 PM. How very singular!! The acclaimed Grenda series that is the benchmark for Sherlock Holmes adapatations. One of the finest period dramas to ever come out of Great Britain and one of my all time favourite television series. These later episodes have seldom, if at all, been shown on Aussie t.v, although Brett's then ill-health was beginning to show on camera he was still definitive as Holmes.
SHERLOCK HOLMES: THE WOMAN IN GREEN - CHANNEL 31 - MONDAY 10.00 AM.
This is one of the Basil Rathbone (Holmes) and Nigel Bruce (Watson)
adaptations, actually number 11. The Jeremy Brett series rather
outclasses this earlier effort but, I have fond memories of these older
tales, nevertheless

In an interesting bit of retro-competative programming ABC 1 follows in
7TWO's footsteps but with a 6 part mini-series remake (filmed in
Namibia) of the iconic series set in the traditional British Mystery
timeslot on Saturday night. Aunty will have it commercial free of
course. First episode, The Arrival, tonight. Be seeing you!

I'll be curious to see how much of Deadwood's 'colourful frontier vernacular' translates to Aunty's 9.30 pm timeslot! In any case, it's one of the finest Westerns ever made...

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS - 1986 U.S.A MUSICAL COMEDY MOVIE - CHANNEL 31 -FRIDAY 10.00 AM. If the listing is correct this is not the original Roger Corman low budget quickie horror movie, but rather the adaptation of the stage musical, directed by Frank Oz of Miss Piggy/Yoda muppeteering fame and has a great cast including Bill Murray, RIck Moranis and Steve Martin.
