Gregory Day has a new novel out called Grand Hotel and we invited him onto BLB to talk about it. He knows a shitload more about Victoria than I do. I really should start reading more Australian history. As a child, Mum and Pops always told me that Australian history was boring. I suppose if I was ever given a chance to address my younger self in a time-machine style sermonising platitudionous fashion, one of the things I would say to her would be, "Block out the sound of your parents' voices".
