Wesley Homeshare, MAFMAD and Amazing Bodies
21st Jun 10
Ash and Rosie presented this week's show and Cris was also in the studio on panel.
We spoke to Jennifer from the Wesley Homeshare porgram about her experience being a homesharer and living with an elderly person. Wesley Homeshare is a housing initiative that helps older people or people with disabilities live in their own homes longer with the support of younger people who move in a live rent free. All the information about this program and Wesley Mission Victoria contacts are available on their website.
We also had an interview with Carmen Knox, winner of the 2009 Make a Film.Make a Difference (MAFMAD) competition. Carmen spoke to us about the competition process and what it was like realising her script idea on film. For more information on MAFMAD have a look here.
Ash and Rosie also discussed the Amazing Bodies exhibition that is currently on at Waterfront City in the Docklands. It's an incredible anatomical display of both human and animal bodies that have been preserved by a process called Plastination. The exhibition provides a comparison between human and animal specimens in various body systems. It's definitely worth checking out, but be warned that it's not for the faint hearted.
