REVIEWS:
T.V: HEADS UP FOR MELBOURNE FREE-TO-AIR
A BUCKET OF BLOOD - 1959 U.S.A HORROR MOVIE - ABC 1 - TUESDAY 12.25 AM. Low, low budget Roger Corman horror film that satirises the Beat era art world as well as 50s teen movies. I wonder if this will be cancelled?
THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME - 1932 U.S.A HORROR MOVIE - CHANNEL 31 - WEDNESDAY 10.00 AM. There are so many films and television show episodes that owe their 'big game hunter stalking human prey' plotline based on the 1924 short story by Richard Connell. This one included many of the cast and crew of King Kong, including Fay Wray, Robert Armstrong, Ernest B. Schoedsack and Merian C. Cooper. Buster Crabbe (Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers) has a small stunt part as a sailor who falls of a sinking ship.
THE PRESTIGE - 2006 U.S.A/U.K SCIENCE FICTION HISTORY MOVIE - NINE - SATURDAY 9.55 PM. Excellent steampunky adaptation of British S.F author Christopher Priest's tale about duelling 'magicians'. Stars Hugh Jackman, Michael Caine and Scarlett Johansson. Keep an eye out for Lord Of The Rings Gollum Andy Serkis. David Bowie is electrifying as Nikola Tesla.
