playlist with Henry Rollins

Written by Elizabeth:
Henry Rollins is very nice and matter-of-fact and brimming with what Martin Amis calls "American Resolve". For example, he recently moved house and after stacking his book and record collection away in floor-to-ceiling bookshelves (surely the only furniture that really matters) he turned to his assistant and said, "I'm done. I think this is it. I'm not moving again." Man I would love to have just a itsy bit of that sure-headed-ness.
Henry Rollins signed my plaster cast ("HEAL! - H. ROLLINS") and it must've done the world of good cuz 3 days later the fracture specialist told me the plaster can come off sooner than expected. Which is a relief because I am dying to get started with the rest of my life.
After the show Dave drove me to my leafy Eastern suburbs hideout and I introduced him to a seventeen year old cat and showed him a bit of the garden and told him how it's weird with all the birds out here. Then I waved him goodbye and went inside and got drunk because I'm bored with being in plaster. Then I finished reading Chloe Hooper's The Tall Man and felt better about my lot in life. Every Australian should read this book. Wack it on the schools' syllabus, for chrissake.
