Shane Moritz is the biggest fan of Pavement that I know and because we couldn't get Pavement on the show we settled for their biggest fan. Shane Moritz!! Shane turned up to the studio in the hazy shape you find yourself in after you've just returned from a 3 day rock festival. A teeny bit toasted, woah! Nevertheless, he was determined to tell Dave and I exactly how to run proceedings - which was fine with me because I am sick to fucking death of telling rock stars who appear on our show what to do (Speak into the mic! Put your headphones on! Stop drinking all my beer!) Shane got so "in the moment" during one moment that I had to tell him to settle down, Malkmus had left the building. He consoled himself by playing the most obscure Pavement tracks you've never heard which convinced both himself, and us, that he is indeed the biggest Pavement fan in the land.
