Diet Schmiet! (I'm Kofta Golden Plains)

I'm Kofta Golden Plains!

STUFF:
3 slices stale white bread, crusts removed and cut or torn in to small pieces
½ cup milk
1 teaspoon each of ground coriander, cumin, paprika and cinnamon
½ teaspoon all spice
(optional - ¼ teaspoon tumeric)
1 kg lamb mince (you can use chicken mince if you prefer)
3 cloves garlic, chopped finely
1 large red onion, chopped finely
¼ cup finely chopped mint
¼ cup finely chopped parsley
Sea salt and ground black pepper to taste
Olive oil for frying
2 cans cherry tomatoes (you can use normal chopped canned tomatoes)
1 dessertspoon sugar
ACTION:
In a bowl mix together the milk and bread until the bread is soft.
In a small frying pan mix together the ground spices and heat for a few minutes,
remove from heat and place on plate to cool.
In a large bowl mix together the bread, spices, lamb, garlic, onion, mint, parsley, salt and pepper.
Combine well using your hands.
Roll in to small balls.
Heat oil and in batches fry the lamb till it changes colour.
Remove.
In a large saucepan heat the 2 cans of cherry tomatoes, crushing the tomatoes to release all the juice, add the sugar, a good pinch of salt and pepper and the lamb balls.
Simmer for around 20 minutes.
Serve with crusty bread or pasta or cous cous
