Clare Moore showed up in the green room halfway through the show and Dave and she hugged and kissed one another in a very public fashion that made me question the prudence of the national pharmaceutical benefits scheme. Sure, they'd been separated for 5 days and were glad to be back in each others' company but after 24 years of marriage surely a few days apart is no reason to fall in love all over again. Anyway, Kim Salmon was our special guest and talked about the making of the Surrealists' Hit Me With The Surreal Feel which he made 23 years ago at a cost of sixty bucks. Impressive. The Surrealists will be launching their latest record, Grand Unifying Theory, in the next month.
At the SLAM rally Dave and Clare still only had eyes and tongues for each other and I did my darndest to remind them to keep their focus on an issue even bigger than what time they were both jumping into bed that night. To no avail. I didn't receive any emails, texts, or phonecalls from them for THREE DAYS after the rally and am dreading what kind of shape Dave's gonna be in for our show this week. Cripes.
