On 30 December 2009 Melbourne lost a rock legend. Rowland S Howard was a musician whose distinctive style and sound resonated across the underground rock landscape for three decades.
He was an artist who made music only when he saw fit, with honesty and integrity and his partners in collaborative crime have included Lydia Lunch, Thurston Moore, Nikki Sudden, the Devastations and Barry Adamson.
In this edition of Max Headroom, Lisa Palermo explored and payed tribute to the music of Rowland S Howard, from his beginnings with the Young Charlatans and the Boys Next Door through to his acclaimed solo album “Pop Crimes”.
