The effervescent Mark Watt joined us at Triple R to talk about the great work not-for-profit organisation, Whitelion, do throughout the community. They work with marginalised, young people whose lives have been affected by abuse, neglect, drug addiction and poverty. If you can offer some time to make a change in a young person's life, why not get on-board as a Whitelion mentor.

We were joined by director/writer, Sonya Pemberton, of ABC documentary, "Catching Cancer". This film explores startling new evidence that links viruses to cancer. And this is apparently not reason to panic, but to celebrate... Sonya talks us through this documentary, which is a wonderful balance of scientific research and human stories. Compelling, intimate and the first time in 16 years of broadcasting that I've ever burst into tears on-air! You can't help but be moved. Watch this and you'll learn so much.

When: ABC1 - Thursday 22nd October - 8.30pm

Rachel Murray and Nadia Mohammed (aka Selektress) joined me at Triple R to talk about Melbourne's FIRST-EVER female, multicultural DJ collective - bringing together girls from Samoa, Uruguay, Malaysia, Rwanda, Somalia, Aotearoa, Albury-Wodonga and more. The girls have developed their confidence and leadership skills through DJing and they'll be dropping their beats on us this Saturday night, as they unveil their talent before a huge crowd.

When: Saturday 24th October, 2009 from 7pm

Where: Brunswick Town Hall, Sydney Road

Who: Anyone and everyone - for only $5 donation!

Why: Why NOT?!!!
