Buckwheat Brekkie

Flip’s Buckwheat Brekkie
(2 generous serves)
STUFF:
1 cup buckwheat kernels (triangular looking grains)
4 cups water
Zest of one lemon
Grated ginger
Cinnamon
Creamed honey
Almonds, sesame seeds
Fresh mint leaves
ACTION:
Put buckwheat and water along with lemon zest, ginger and
cinnamon in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Simmer for 20
minutes, stirring more often as time as water reduces to it
doesn’t stick to the saucepan.
(As with porridge you can adjust the water volumn and cooking
time to suit your taste – thicker and ‘firmer to the tooth’
equals less water and less cooking, mushier and thinner
consistency – more water etc)
Add honey, nuts and fresh mint leaves.
Eat!
