Radio Marinara: Captain Peter Hammerstedt, Chairman of Sea Shepherd Australia

Peter Hammerstedt, Global Director of Campaigns and Chairman of Sea Shepherd Australia, joins Bron and Dr Beach to talk about Sea Shepherd – an international direct action ocean movement whose sole mission is to protect the world's oceans and marine wildlife.

The trio discuss Sea Shepherd’s work in marine and land cleanups, partnerships with state actors and grassroots direct action groups in achieving outcomes and wins of their campaigns, and what else is involved in the fight to protect the oceans.

Sea Shepherd’s Allankay vessel docked in Melbourne and welcomed the public for ship tours on the weekend of 16 & 17 March 2024 to build momentum in its campaign to protect Antarctic waters as part of a global campaign to stop destructive krill fishing.
