Forró Lamparina brings the traditional rhythms of northeast Brazil to life, echoing the spirited gatherings of Forró parties. Forró is traditionally a couple's dance party from northeast of Brazil in which rhythms such as xote, baião, xaxado, coco and arrasta pé are played and danced to. Contemporarily all kinds of couples are welcome as well as dancing alone. The traditional forró band is composed of an accordion, a zabumba and a triangle. Other instruments may be added and are welcome to the traditional trio.
